Gerald Flottmann, DVM
Dr. Gerald Flottmann grew up in Gerald, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri, graduating in 1970 with degrees B.S. in Agriculture and DVM. Dr. Flottmann practiced Large and Small Animal Medicine and Surgery in Missouri for 7 years before moving to Houston, Texas in March 1977. Dr. Flottmann is now celebrating his 40th year in practice!
While in Houston, he practiced in South Houston before establishing an Emergency Clinic Management Group where he was responsible for four Emergency Clinics in the Houston area.
In 1984 he established Western Hills Animal Care Clinic in Montgomery, a mixed practice providing care for everything from cats to cows, parakeets to ostrich, and hamsters to horses.
In March 2005 Dr. Flottmann opened Lakeview Veterinary Clinic, across from Bentwater in Montgomery. Lakeview Veterinary Clinic is also a mixed practice, serving all varieties of animals. Dr. Flottmann can be seen daily at Western Hills Animal Care Clinic.
Lowie Rice, DVM
Dr. Lowie Rice was born and raised in Big Spring, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Animal Husbandry and DVM. After graduating, he worked for the Texas Animal Health Commission and the USDA. Dr. Rice has been practicing Veterinary Medicine since 1972 specializing in large and small animal. He now does relief work for Dr. Flottmann primarily at Western Hills Animal Care Clinic. Dr. Rice is married to Betty Cochran Rice, they boast of 4 children, 11 grandchildren and a new great grandbaby!
Rebecca Wind, DVM
Dr. Becky Wind grew up in Buda, Texas. She obtained a bachelors degree in Biomedical Science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. Since her graduation from vet school in 2005, she has worked at an all equine practice and a small animal/exotic practice in the Conroe area. In April 2008 she joined Dr. Flottmann's practices. Her husband and her have been married for 8 years and have a three year old daughter and another baby on the way. She enjoys being a mother, horseback riding and outdoor activities. Dr. Wind can be seen at Lakeview Veterinary Clinic on Thursdays and Fridays.
Reed Tolles, DVM
Dr. Reed Tolles grew up in Odessa, Texas. He received his degree in Animal Science as well as his DVM from Texas A&M University in 1977. He began practicing as an associate veterinarian in Baytown, Texas in his first 2 years out of school. He then built his own practice, Bay-Pointe Animal Clinic in La Porte, Texas in 1979 and sold it in January 2008. Dr. Tolles recently joined Lake Conroe Veterinary Group as a relief veterinarian primarily at our Lakeview location. Dr. Tolles and his wife currently reside in Bentwater. They have 3 lovely daughters and 1 grandaughter. Dr. Tolles can be seen at Lakeview Veterinary Clinic on Mondays and Tuesdays.
James Kaaz, DVM
Dr. James Kaaz grew up in Spring, Texas and graduated from high school in Plano, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University from 1986-1994 where he earned a B.S. in Animal Science and Veterinary Science and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Kaaz practiced in Atoka, Oklahoma for 11 years where he built and operated his own practice. In 2005 he sold his practice and moved to Kerrville, Texas where he practiced as staff surgeon until 2009 when he moved to Montgomery to begin working at Western Hills Animal Care Clinic and Lakeview Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Kaaz has four children, Kade, Tanner, Seth and Jenna who are his life, one dog “Buck” and two cats “Bonnie and Clyde." Dr. Kaaz enjoys spending time with his kids, Aggie Football and water sports.
Mary Turner
Mary Turner has been a veterinary technician for fifteen years and has worked for Dr. Flottmann since he reopened Western Hills Animal Care Clinic. She loves fishing and spending time with her beloved pets, Chyna and Molly. She boasts of two handsome sons, Josh and Travis and loves her family dearly. She has a two year old grandson whom she loves spending time with. We like to think of Mary as Dr. Flottmann's "Right Hand Woman" here at Western Hills Animal Care Clinic. This practice could not be run without the hard work and dedication of Mary Louise Turner :)
Courtney Eichelberger
Courtney went through a veterinary technology school in Tomball and is a Certified Veterinary Assistant. She has lived in Montgomery for 4 years. She used to train horses for trail riding. She lives on acreage out by the Sam Houston National Forest, where she can be found riding horses on most her days off. She lives in a little slice of heaven with her husband. Brad, and their family - the four legged variety! They have Brangus cattle; Spanish and Boer Cross goats, and one dairy goat; White, Cinnamon and Spotted Texas Doll sheep; five horses; four dogs; and a cat. The dogs are a Pug, a Labrador Retriever and two mixed breeds. She has a variety of quarter horses and gaited horses- all different colors- adding spice to life! She belongs to the Yeehaw Sisterhood of Montgomery, a local trail riding club of mainly women.
Tammy Whitten
Tammy joined our practices in January of 2008. She was born in Louisiana but was raised in Texas for the most part. She has 13 years of experience in the medical field as a Phlebotomist and as a Veterinary Technician. Tammy and her husband, Greg, live in San Jacinto County. They have 4 children, Cody, John, Heather and Amber and 4 dogs, Chloe, Doodle, Molly and Maximus and of course their "granddog" Rufus! Tammy's favorite hobbies are family, fishing, and boating.
Tiffany Swatzel
Tiffany has lived in Montgomery since 1996 and after graduating high school in 2003, she attended the Veterinary Technology Program at Tomball College. From 2006-2009, Tiffany attended Texas A&M University where she recently graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science. She would like to further her education in Veterinary School in the future. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family and pets and often visits the zoo to see her favorite animals, the Okapi, Giraffes and Flamingos!
Lolita Brown
Lolita grew up in Tarkington, but now lives in Montgomery. She joined our staff at Lake Conroe Veterinary Group in summer of 2010. In her spare time, Lolita enjoys being with her husband, Marlan, two children; Clayton and Carly, two horses, and three dogs.
Caroline Burgess
Caroline was born in Houston, but relocated to Oxford, Mississippi when she was five. After spending 18 years there, she has recently moved back to Texas and is living in Montgomery. Caroline is a 2009 graduate of The University of Mississippi where she earned a B.A. in English and Southern Studies. Other than working, her favorite things include; shopping, traveling, duck hunting, 4 wheelers, SEC and New Orleans Saints football, but most importantly her chocolate lab, Grace, and Jack Tzu Captain.
